    (Main Sentences)
I believe that the mass media are absolutely beneficial to us because they affect on the way individuals think, which make public opinions.

First of all, the mass media provide you with the necessary tool ― that is knowledge ― with which you can think about what is happening in the world. For example, without the mass media, it would be difficult to know what the prime minister thinks about employment problems. It is as if you tried to play soccer without a ball.

Next, the mass media tell you how to think. Through them, you can learn how to kick the ball examining how others do. Even if a political problem seems too difficult for you to deal with, you can create your own opinion hearing what a famous professor said. From a neutral position, the mass media introduce various views.

Lastly, the mass media give you places of performance. After you have become a fantastic player, you must want to show your play, and the mass media make it possible. On the Internet, you can express what is a problem about the present Tokyo governor, and when people with the same opinion gather, they can in fact kick out the evil statesman. It means that thanks to mass media you show a political team play.

Thus, the mass media are beneficial to society. They are a capable assistant in your playing a role in the public.

I am somewhat satisfied with the text. I tried introducing a metaphor. If I focus on just passing the exam, metaphors are needless. But writing in various styles is a good exercise, so I'll try it again if another one comes into mind.
