I agree that space exploration should be continued because it gives us various benefits, catching up with the present technology is needed, and the exploration puts the nation in an internationally high position.

First, space exploration brings us a variety of benefits in the fields of science, medicine, and so on. Weather forecast is possible thanks to meteorological satellites. Some medicines developed in the space save patients suffering from serious illnesses. I believe that innovations created in the space will continue to help us to live better lives.

Second, it is important for a nation to stay on a high level of space technology. In international relationships, it can be an influential political card. A history reminds us that the US could maintain the advantageous position to Russia in the previous Cold War because they had sent human beings onto the moon earlier. In an unpredictable age today, the importance of space technology becomes bigger and bigger in terms of politics.

Third, space development bears excellent scientists, who enhance the science level of the nation. The space gives exciting dreams to the young. Pushed by the passion, they try their best to learn, and some actually get into one of the most prestigious colleges to study it, and others start to make rockets at one of the most splendid institutions like NASA. Space exploration is a great investment of human resource.

Technologically, politically, and educationally, the space is as full of possibilities as it is. Why should not we explore it further?

I'm a poor writer. I must not trade off the time and the content, but I did. This time I took 90 minutes. One of my weak points is how to quote examples. Concrete examples are useful to describe and explain the claim, but they need many words, so to take too many examples makes the essay too long. In addition, examples cannot contain so much assertion in the words. Therefore essays full of too many examples look tedious. Balance is important.

    meteorological: 気象の
    splendid: 素晴らしい
    tedious: 冗長
    influential: 影響力のある
    forecast: 予報
    concrete: 具体的な
